This morning Holly worked on a fun art project, creating hearts from wax paper and crayon shavings. She spent a lot of time sharpening crayons onto a large sheet of wax paper. This took a long time, patience and some great fine motor skills. After she had what she felt was enough crayon shavings we then ironed another piece of wax paper to the bottom one, using a towel between the iron and the wax paper.
After they were ironed together she traced hearts in different sizes and cut them out. Then we got our thread and pipe cleaners to create a heart mobile. She worked hard on putting the thread through each heart and tying them and then we tied them onto a couple of crossed pipe cleaners. The pipe cleaners worked well because the hearts were so light. Then we hung it up in the window as a sun catcher. A great, pretty project!!!
