Curriculum Choices

So, for this school year we have chosen to use a project based curriculum for Holly called 'Moving Beyond the Page'. After reviewing it and talking with others I know this will be a fun choice for us. It is all encompassing, however we are going to play with it and add in more writing, reading and math. As well, we will be doing a lot with basic geography, poetry, art, religion, science, music and nature studies.

Now to look at all this... it looks like a bunch of books - not too fun for a kindergartner. Well, although it appears to be all book work, it is not. We will be doing a lot of hands on fun activities, manipulative's, games, outings, media, experiments and more! The books are often the idea resources for us and then we move from there. Should be a really fun year!
